New Gig: Episode and Boycott Monday at Heatham
As posted earlier, Episode will be playing Heatham on Saturday the 24th of April 2010. However we can now confirm that the other band also playing will be Boycott Monday. Boycott Monday are another local year 11 band, with one member going to OPS (Kai). Although this is strictly a band night, we are under the impression that no other bands will be playing, however there will be a DJ.
Episode have a history of aranging gigs with Boycott Monday, and Boycott Monday have a history of pulling out! However we are†confident†that this time they will be playing, so please come along and support.
Whether you regularly go to Heatham, used to go to Heatham or have never been, please come along as it is a nice,†friendly†venue and a chance to hear some great music.
If you have never heard any of Boycott Monday's tunes, or want to find out more about them, please go to my other website†boycottmonday.co.uk.
We look forward to seeing you there.
More info at the gig's page here.
Some More Details…
As you may have already worked out by the counter on the front page, the release date for the new EP has been pushed back to Sunday the 18th of April, at 7:30pm. This is because I do not get back from China until Friday afternoon so I may not have been able to update the site, and also because Sunday evening is the time most people are online and will be able to listen to the new songs.
When there is about an hour to go until the release, the site will be taken down and all you will be able to see is the countdown on the front page. The site will then be updated, with download links for the EP but also (as a†consequence†of moving the release back to Sunday) the song player on the right hand side will include the new songs and there should be a SoundCloud player in the post for you to easily stream the songs.
The well known other year 11 band that we are hoping will play at Band Night the week after release, have agreed to play but we are waiting on confirmation from all parties including the venue before we announce anything.
It’s Recording Time Again…
As you may have heard via our Facebook or Twitter pages, Episode are booked to record several new songs at the Bafta nominated†Sonica Studios on Tuesday the 13th of April 2010. This is by far the best studio yet, with many film, TV and game soundtracks, including the entire LittleBigPlannet score, being written and recorded there. Because of this Episode will be recording what would be the lead singles: Alien is an Understatement, Drowning and Angel of the North.
Recording will take place on the Tuesday, mixing and mastering will be done during the following few days, and BA strike permitting, the songs will be released at 7:30pm on Friday 16th of April. However this is subject to change as my flight from†Beijing†does not arrive until Friday afternoon and obviously the band are incapable of doing their own website. As with the last release, it will be released as an EP which you will be able to download for free. Please note that the release time stated is the†release†time for the downloadable EP, and not for Myspace, Soundcloud or the song player on the website.
To back up the release Episode will be playing Heatham House Band Night on Saturday the 24th of April. We are also hoping to get another well known year 11 band to play so please come along and listen to some great music. More info about the gig here.
More†information†about anything will be posted when I†receive†it, so please follow us on Twitter, become a fan on Facebook or sign up for email updates.
Episode Play November Band Night
Just got back from band night (nice to see everyone there - not). Fortunately†their set was not too delayed and so they managed to play all the songs they intended to do, which included new songs My Definition and Angel of the North.

Videos of New Songs Online (From Fri. Gig)
Well finally Finbar has let me upload two songs from Friday's gig at Heatham, Angel Of The North and My Definition. We will not be uploading any more for the next few months so that people will buy the DVD with Episode's and The Appeal's sets on it, which should be out within a few weeks.
Episode Rock Heatham Again
Episode and The Appeal played Heatham House tonight (20.11.09), with all proceeds going to Children In Need, †after a gig two weeks ago clashed with a houseparty. All invites were given out and there was a much larger crowd. The gig was filmed by me, and we will probably make a DVD with both bands' performances and some special†features, with money going to Children In Need.
Episode Played:
- My Definition
- Better Place
- You Sir, I Want to Take You to the Gay Bar
- Navigator
- One Way Ticket
- Warped
- Chino
- Drowning
- Seize†the Day
- Angel of the North
- My Balls are Itchy
Tomorrow’s Charity Gig With The Appeal Sold Out
All invites have been given out for tomorrow's gig, so if you do not have an invite please do not turn up at Heatham as you will not be let in. If you have an invite but are now unable to come please return your invite or give it to someone that wants one, as we have none left now. Boycott Monday are not playing and so it is just The Appeal and Episode.
Doors open at 7:30†tomorrow†(20th November), The Appeal on shortly after.
Entry is £2 (for Children In Need).
Boycott Monday pull out of Friday’s Gig
Anyone else feeling a strange sense of dÈj‡ vu here?†Unfortunately†Boycott Monday will no longer be performing at Friday's gig with The Appeal and Episode on November the 20th. However both The Appeal and Episode will still be playing so the gig will be going ahead, and we are considering other bands to play. Doors open at 7:30 and the first band should be on about 10 minutes after.†Because†it is located in the basement of Heatham House, there is a strict limit of 40 tickets, and you will need to get an invite of Finbar on Thursday or Friday (19th and 20th of November).
More info about the gig can be found here.
Important Ticket Details for Next Friday’s Gig
Complicated details for the gig on Friday the 20th of November with Boycott Monday and The Appeal:
The gig will be held in the basement at Heatham, so we have very limited availability, about 40 people in the audience. Because of the limited number of spaces, you will need to ask Finbar, Zach or Kai for an invite, which will then let you purchase a ticket on the door. Invites will be given out for free on Thursday and Friday next week, but only take one if you are definitely going please.
We are expecting to give away all invites, and so anyone without an invite will not be able to purchase a ticket on the door. However, if we do not give out all the invites there may be some tickets left to purchase on the door, and I will send another message if this happens.
Tickets will cost £2, and doors open at 7:50pm, with The Appeal on at 8.
